The challenge
Look closely at the situation and ask yourself–does the challenge contribute to your self-growth and self-awareness, or does it just boost your weak ego?
If the challenge boosts your weak ego, then you are not being true to yourself. You may be more concerned about what others think rather than accepting the challenge and contributing to your self-growth. Explore what values are important to you. Is being in the truth part of your value system?
Pause for a moment before you respond to the situation. It doesn’t matter if you are in the middle of a dilemma–take a step back. Then think about what you may want to accomplish from the outcome. The challenge may be an opportunity for self-growth or self-awareness.
Listen to your inner voice. Be open and honest with yourself. Explore the situation from every angle. Ask yourself, “Is this situation self-serving?” “Am I supporting myself and others in a healthy way?” And most importantly, “Am I being honest with myself?”
Maybe the challenge is not worth pursuing. Ask yourself, “Am I emotionally investing in an unhealthy situation?” For example, are you engaging in fighting someone’s emotional battles?
If you are taking on a challenge that supports self-growth or self-awareness, then you are on the right path.
It is important to stay in-tune with your inner voice–that voice which tells the truth. The more you practice listening to your inner voice, the clearer you will become about the challenges that promote self-growth and self-awareness. Energy work can help you to listen more closely to your inner wisdom.
