Your awareness
In awareness, you become mindful of the energy around you.
Listen to your body. Take notice of how your body responds when you are around people. Do you feel a tightness in your stomach? Do you have a lump in your throat? Or do you feel physically tired after being with a particular person?
Take notice of your emotional state. Do you feel emotionally drained in the company of a particular person or persons? Or is there something about being in their company that feels uncomfortable? Do you feel annoyed or angry during a conversation and yet cannot figure out why you feel that way?
You may not have been able to make any connections in those immediate moments. Begin to step back and observe your body’s response as well as your emotional response to what might not feel right for you. This is ‘being in your awareness’.
When in your awareness, you begin to listen to the intuitive response which is your own inner truth. When your intuition says stay away from this person or that situation, then listen. You may be encountering toxic energy that can leave you physically tired, emotionally drained, annoyed or even angry. Listen to what toxic energy sets off in you.
Often our inner self becomes distracted by our many daily interactions. It is beneficial to sit in quiet and be in awareness. Find a place where you can be still without distractions. The quiet aids in identifying and subsequently avoiding toxic energy.
And it is equally as important to become aware of the role you may play in the dance with toxic energy. More about your role in the next blog.
